Out-of-Network Reimbursement
If we aren't in-network with your plan, we provide a superbill after each visit — a detailed receipt you can submit to your insurer for reimbursement. Most PPO plans reimburse 50-80% of the allowed amount for out-of-network providers. Call the member services number on the back of your insurance card to check your out-of-network mental health benefits before your first visit.

How do I verify my insurance before my first visit?+
Call any of our offices or request a callback. Give us your insurance card details and we'll verify your benefits within one business day. You'll receive a written estimate of your expected out-of-pocket cost before your first appointment.
Do you accept my insurance for therapy?+
Therapy at Ascend is primarily fee-for-service. Kaylee Brenneman is currently in-network with UHC and Medicare. For all other plans, you pay our published rate and we provide a superbill for out-of-network reimbursement. Most PPO plans reimburse 50-80%.
Is ketamine therapy covered by insurance?+
No. Ketamine-assisted therapy is not currently covered by insurance carriers. Our 6-session series is $2,700 ($450 per session). Payment plans through Cherry financing are available to spread payments over 3-6 months.
What's a superbill and how do I use it?+
A superbill is a detailed receipt that includes the provider's credentials, diagnosis codes, procedure codes, and the amount you paid. You submit it to your insurance company for out-of-network reimbursement. Most insurers accept superbills online through their member portal or by mail. Reimbursement typically takes 2-6 weeks.
Do you accept Medicare or Medicaid?+
Yes. Anna Stouffer (Psychiatry) accepts both Medicare and Medicaid. Kaylee Brenneman (Therapy) accepts Medicare. Dr. Saylor's Medicare and Medicaid credentialing for primary care is in process.
Do you accept TRICARE or ChampVA?+
Yes. Anna Stouffer accepts TRICARE and ChampVA for psychiatric services. Dr. Saylor accepts ChampVA for primary care. We are proud to serve active-duty military families, veterans, and their dependents.
Can I use my HSA or FSA?+
Yes. We accept Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) cards for all services, including therapy, psychiatry, primary care, and ketamine therapy.
What is your cancellation and refund policy?+
We require 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations or no-shows may incur a fee. For ketamine series and testing packages, please contact us to discuss our specific cancellation terms before purchasing.
