Affirming Care for Every Mind
Dina Hargrave has spent more than a decade immersed in the intersection of neurodiversity, identity, and mental health. As a Certified Mental Health Counselor (CMHC) with an Education Specialist (Ed.S) degree, she brings both clinical depth and a genuine understanding of what it feels like to navigate a world that was not designed for the way your brain works.
Her expertise in autism spectrum disorders goes beyond textbook criteria. Dina works with autistic children, teens, and adults — as well as their families — to build understanding, develop coping strategies, and create environments where neurodivergent individuals can actually thrive instead of just surviving. She is particularly skilled at identifying autism in individuals who were missed by earlier screenings, including women and girls who present differently than the diagnostic stereotypes suggest.
Dina is also deeply committed to providing LGBTQIA+ affirming care. For clients navigating the intersection of neurodivergence and gender identity or sexual orientation, she offers a space free from the exhausting need to explain or justify who they are before the real therapeutic work can begin.
As a Qualified Supervisor, Dina mentors emerging clinicians and contributes to the overall clinical quality of the Lakeland therapy team. Her influence extends beyond her own caseload — she helps shape how the entire practice approaches neurodiversity and affirming care.
