Collaborative Therapy, Built on Trust
Collin Chapman is completing his graduate clinical training at Ascend's Lakeland office, where he works with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and the kinds of challenges that do not always have a clean diagnostic label. His therapeutic style is collaborative and adaptive — he works with clients, not on them.
What stands out about Collin's practice is his commitment to creating a genuinely inclusive space. He works with people of all gender identities, cultural backgrounds, and life experiences, and he does so without requiring clients to educate him before the real therapeutic work can begin. That readiness matters, especially for clients who have had past therapy experiences where they spent more time explaining their identity than addressing their actual concerns.
Collin's approach centers on supporting, listening, accepting, educating, and guiding — in that order. He believes that before a therapist can effectively guide someone toward positive change, that person needs to feel genuinely heard and accepted. His clients consistently describe him as someone who makes it easy to be honest, even when honesty is uncomfortable.
Under the supervision of Ascend's licensed clinical team, Collin offers sessions at a reduced fee of $75, making quality therapy accessible to clients across the Lakeland community. His approach is particularly well-suited for people who are trying therapy for the first time and want a therapist who will meet them with patience and zero judgment.
