Therapy Without Language Barriers
Ashley M. Spring earned her clinical training at Boston University, where she developed a deep foundation in trauma-informed care and family systems theory. What drives her work today is not just the training — it is the lived understanding that therapy only works when a client feels safe enough to be honest, and that safety starts with being able to speak in the language that feels most natural.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) fluent in both English and Spanish, Ashley serves clients across all three Ascend locations — Wesley Chapel, Lakeland, and Tampa — making her one of the most versatile and accessible therapists on the team. She is one of a small number of bilingual clinicians in the Tampa Bay area providing specialized therapy for trauma, adoption-related concerns, and ADHD.
Ashley's work with adoptive families is grounded in the understanding that adoption — while often celebrated — can carry grief, identity questions, and attachment challenges that many therapists are not trained to address. She works with adoptees, birth parents, and adoptive families across the lifespan, helping each person navigate their unique experience with compassion and clinical precision.
Her trauma-informed approach means she never pushes clients faster than they are ready to go. Whether someone is processing a single traumatic event or a lifetime of compounding adversity, Ashley meets them where they are and builds from there.
